The kids had fun going up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill...

Thanks in great part to CADD and its wonderful members (especially Cristal Newell and Joann Farrend) we now have our own voice in PACFA. Dog Day Care’s are now represented by their own seat on the PACFA advisory committee! Joann Farrend of Winston’s Doggy Playhouse is our first representative on the committee. Joann welcomes feedback from all dog day cares and her contact information is by email winsplayhouse@comcast.net or by phone at 303-805-9640.

PACFA has an advisory committee that is made up of eleven members of the pet care industry who represent various entities including grooming, boarding, retail, shelters and the general public. Any changes to the PACFA rules must be approved through the advisory committee.. Our seat is important because it will allow dog daycare licensees a voice in any future rule changes.

The CADD board has also appointed a subcommittee to work on putting together behavioral standards for CADD members. The subcommittee that worked on this project has been developing a voluntary “Gold Standard Accreditation”. The Gold Standard Accreditation will go to CADD members that make dog behavioral training in a day care environment a key part of their staff development program. The board also intends for these standards to serve as a guide for new businesses. For a draft of the standards please follow the link Gold Standard Accreditation
